week 29

hey what's up peeps. This week a jeepwent speeding past me so I said choke choque choque choque which is crash crash crash and the jeep got hit by a bus crossing the street on the back which turned it and it drifted into a second bus. So oops idk if I jinxed it or what but luckily nobody got hurt. I also went to study with a convert who used to be a jew, she has a lot of insight in the old testament and it was really cool to learn from here. One thing she said was that we're still supposed to follow the law of moses haha, that doesn't really seem right. I do like this phrase she has about prayer that is,"sin rodilla no hay tortilla, sin fe no hay te." Its very true because everything we have in this world is a blessing from God and we receive it according to our faith. I also started noticing this week that a lot of the cars here only have about half of the lug nuts that they should have, which reminded me of a couple weeks ago when this car turned in front of us ...

semana 27

Pretty good week, kinda sucked cause my headed felt like it wanted to explode and my throated decided it was the sahara desert and my nose ran a marathon and my whole body just wanted to sleep lol. It was just the cold tho, sadly not the corona virus. We had zone conference and got roasted again for disobedience by pres. Then I went on splits with the zone leaders because my ZL wanted to try his luck at getting some of my good investigators to so yes to a baptismal date and I guess he's got some magic because he got five dates for us. I went to the rich boy area which was terrible because nobody wants to hear us and everyone just tells us we're liars and that the virgin Guadalupe is going to save them. Finally got all the letters from Christmas so thank you to those who sent them! Not much more than that this week! Peace, smelder roberts

just a few days from six monthes

Aight so it was a pretty cool week. First things first my district leader and five other missionaries got sent home so I am currently a self appointed district leader over my comp haha. So now were all alone again in the house and our area got even bigger and not just because we adopted Alta Vista 1. When we take the bus to Rancha Anapra its about thirty minutes to the ranch and then another thirty to the end of the line, which is the border of NM. Then we can hike up a sandy mountain to another lil town where everyone steals electricity. Also in Rancho Anapra the hottest place to go on the weekends is the "nigth" club. Looks pretty cool hahaha. Sometimes here in mexico the stoplights do red and green at the same time but i´m never fast enough to get a picture of it. We were eating with the bishop´s family a few days ago and they put a basket of fruit on the table and I went to grab a mango but right next to the mango there was a pear that was bruised so it looked like a mang...

Rancha Anapra

Hey yall not too much time but my new area is huge and we have this little town 30 minutes outside the city that I can see New Mexico from haha. My new companion is a really hard worker and we get along really well. I live in a house separated in two parts so there's really four missionaries there so that's really fun. There's a bunch of work here, we have like six baptismal dates. I went back to Del Real on saturday to dunk one of my oldest investigators. Gtg, go do some service or be nice to someone this week! peace, Smelly out

Aight yall pretty cool week. First off the ward turned back around to be way chill with us again. I was joking with some dudes in the chapel on Tuesday just giving crap back and forth and then they asked my if I would want to return to Juarez and I said I'd rather go hit up the DR so they were mad at me for a sec lol. Then on friday night I beat the ward record of eating 28 flautas by eating 30 in one sitting. I met a missionary from layton this week because they got locked out of their house one night so they had a sleepover at my mansion. Then the next night we had splits so I was up till at least 3 two nights in a row lol. We dug a big canal as a ward for a member who was having problems with her house flooding and of course they gave the gringo the broken shovel with splinters so I got 6 nice blisters. I'm getting transferred tomorrow and I forgot my new comp's name but I'm going to be finishing training him. I've heard he's tall, brazillian, and has a tatto...

February 3rd, 2020

Hey whaddup Utah welcome back to another episode of Ciudad Juarez. Last night my companion and I hit big goals because we had a conversation in our sleep lolol. My compa woke up but kept talking to me so basically we bein bffs and stuff. One night we were walkin on a dirt road when we heard something like car crashes and people screaming, so we kept walkin because whats new its juarez. It got louder until we came to a building one of my investigators owns. Turns out him and his band were practicing some Slipknot so obviously we chilled with them a while and they want us to go to there concert at midnight on thursday so who knows whats gonna happen!! Speaking of disobedience, at zone conference Pres pulled out the flame thrower and roasted us for not being good missionaries, lol. Honestly I havent done anything bad enough to be worried but today a lot of missionaries had special interviews with Pres. Basically the past two weeks weve contacted all day every day a...

So started off with going to the temple late so basically a big waste of my pday. Then we had zone conference which was cool. This rich family made food for the whole zone and so obviously i had to go network a little and now Im headed to go to a steakhouse with this rich dude in just a minute so boom, networking. My back hurts a little from carrying this ward so much, this week I played all the hymns, a special number, and gave another talk so idk what theyre gonna do without me. Doesnt feel like christmas without snow but I do have presents and my christmas tree so we chillin. I wanna stay here another transfer because my fav fam wants to throw me a birthday party with a piƱata and presents and cake and everything so cant miss that.  This week seeing lots of people without family made me realize how blessed I am to have great family and friends every year even if I wont see them for two years. Life is a whole lot better when you finally realize everything that you nee...
